An online talk at CC Bisbe Verger was the single spire that ignite the fire of this initiative. The high school students discovered how exoplanets are detected, classified and named.

Introduction to astronomical concepts.
CC Bisbe Verger: 1h / 23 alumnos (4º ESO)
Once all astronomical concepts were adquired, seven groups of students started looking for similarities between the folktales characters & the stellar systems. This activity mixed sciences with catalan literature and english lessons. Each group defended their proposal in public. The winner was Na Filet d’Or proposal in order to name WASP-166 system!

With this result under our belts, IES Marc Ferrer teachers showed the proposal to their pupils. Furthermore, they also taught the students how to use the Space Engine software.

After the support event by UIB, the teachers from IES Joan Alcover decided to develop two different activities. The first one was an auca of Na Filet d’Or. You can see the results here:

The second activity consist in making several versions of the aforementioned folktales as if all is happening nowadays. The students took into account all typical folktale elements and… edited a book!

Manacor, birthplace of Antoni Alcover, celebrate every year the Alcover’s Week acknowledging the preservation of our cultural heritage thanks to his literary work. The head of the Institució Pública Antoni Alcover, Cristina Duran, invited us to talk about our stellar project at the opening ceremony. Moreover, Lídia Pérez performed the folktale Na Filet d’Or to suport our NameExoWorlds candidature.

Performance of Na Filet d’Or
Ernesto Nicola, AstroMallorca member, gave us the chance to explain how exoplanets are detected, characterized, and officially named, highlighting our proposal. Since we were in Caimari, we were also invited to see all wonders of their new headquarters. Thanks for such welcoming afternoon!

Thanks to Pep Marcús (Club Newton) & Joan Lluís Pons (Secció Astronòmica del Cercle Artístic) Sebastià attended to the III Trobada d’Associacions d’Astronomia de les Illes Balears. He explained all the details around our naming proposal and outreach activities. Later, we met the members of the balearic astronomical associations. It was a great experience!

We prepared a tiny surprise for some colleagues at the Trobada audience. Irene Riudavets & Cristina Bravo (Nurarq) announced an arqueoastronomical discovery. No one was expecting Sebastià as a coauthor of a second talk!
